Playing on my mom's new eMachine. Nice to finally have a good computer in New Orleans. I actually convinced her that this new computer meritted Cable Internet too.
Anyway, let me know if the new color scheme hurts your eyes or something and I will try to fix it up a little

4:57 PM
Happy Turkey Day everyone and happy Ham Day Eve to all the Tiger fans out there.
The Sav-A-Center meal wasn't too bad. More than enough food for my mom, grandfather and I. problem was that the Mac & Cheese (family tradition) wasn't good and while my mom made it tate good, it was VERY watery. Things still went fine and it all worked out. She didn;'t have to slave in the kitchen for 5 or 6 hours for 3 people so this could become our regular thing for the next few years.
I finally got some long-needed sleep last night and feel OK for the first time in a while. Should get more tonight.
Egg Bowl is tonight in, as Gorilla Monsoon would say, a battle between the immovable object and the irresistable force. Mississippi State's inability to move the ball vs. the strange force that makes Ole Miss suck in Novemeber. I'm actually pulling for Ole Miss so that they can go to the Independence Bowl (and keep LSU out of it for something better). So Hotty Toddy Go Rebs.
....
OK, done puking.
Coming home always reminds me why AOL and dial up sucks.
Remember, we're watching the LSU/Arkansas State Correctional Facility game here AT MY HOUSE IN NEW ORLEANS tomorrow. Don't come over until about 1 or so, have to run some errands in the morning. Send me an e-mail or IM me at SeanMcDLSU (my AOL account, if I'm online, that is definately on, AIM might not be) if you need directions on how to get here.

Well think I'm done recoding. I kinda like this look (minor changes plus links on the right) a little better. Let me know what you think.
My car is done and no parts were needed, everything was just banged up.
10:13 AM
Excuse the mess while I recode this thing. Never liked the way it worked before, fixing it now.
9:16 AM
Just to prove I can laugh about LSU Football:
Car is at Gerry Lane, better be fixed today or they will have a very pissed off customer.

What the HELL is going on in the state of Alabama?
11:48 AM
Just another reminder that people are invited to my place (in New Orleans) Friday at 1:30 to watch the LSU/Arkansas State Correctional Facility @ Fayetteville game for the Golden Boot.
If you need directions, send me an e-mail.
Had my last class for a week last night. Working today and tomorrow and have a group meeting tonight for my banking class. We want to turn in our project analyzing Hancock Bank tomorrow instead of Monday so we don't need to worry abot it over break, so its looking like another long day at CEBA!
Car goes in to be fixed tomorrow, hopefully all will work out quickly so I can get on the road by 5 at the latest.
My mom is getting Sav-A-Center to make our Thanksgiving dinner since she is pretty busy with school (and it looks like it will only be 2 or 3 of us). That should be interesting. She claims she will fix the stuff up. Once again, that should be interesting.
Imagine my surprise/shock this morning when I had an e-mail from Charlie Ford with the subject of "Website". Luckily, it was about the district website. Speaking of which, I need to update that. Probably will do it tonight or when I get back in town on Sunday.
2:42 PM
Ever wonder where I get my LSU graphics from?
Most of them come from the Tiger's Lair, an LSU message board on tigerroar.com.
I pay $32 a year for it and it is well worth it. We get recruiting news, a college pickem game, the ability to talk wtih LSU fans, and even a political board to talk about that stuff.
Its well worth the money if you're an LSU fan that likes to discuss and know what's going on with LSU athletics.
And if you want, you can give me an extra free month by signing up following this link instead of going to the website and signing up yourself :-)
11:45 PM
Well so much for the Saints-Tulane-LSU Connection.
The record yesterday was Louisiana 2 Mississippi 0, but the Aints managed to mess it up today. I slept through the game (thought it was the Sunday Night game for some reason and it wasn;t on TV anyway), but I need to ask one question... HOW THE HELL DO YOU LOSE TO THE BROWNS?
Spent the day working on group projects for Bank Management and Sports Marketing. Am going to finally try to get my trunk fixed tomorrow. I just remembered that I get a car rental with my insurance so I might be able to play things to where I bring the car in on Wed and get a rental for a few days.
I see now that Mary Landrieu has picked up glowing endorsements from Cleo Fields and Jesse Jackson! Also saw a pretty rough mudslinging commercial from her camp tonight.
In both football and politics, winning by 1 is nice, but not as nice as 2, or 3, or 4, etc.
3:24 PM
Ashley sent this to me. She got it from Matt Savrock, who may be the original author
First Annual Treatise on Why Ole Miss Sucks
1) They're a bunch of pretentious redneck retards. Contrary to the popular belief in Oxford, J. Crew gear and flowers do NOT give you elegance. It's like putting lipstick and a prom dress on a pig. You still have a pig, not a homecoming queen. That's even true in Oxford, where it would be an improvement over the usual homecoming queen.
2) They honestly believe they have great tailgating. They even gushed about it in a recent article and dissed LSU's tailgating because we "bring too much cooking equipment". Hey dumbasses, let's play word association. "Ole Miss". Did you think "tailgating"? Of course not. The most common answer is "race riot". Centerpieces and catering aren't the key to tailgating, and nobody outside of the Grove thinks they are.
3) Speaking of race riots, their last conference title came when James Meredith was still a student and the team was still all white. In other words, no conference titles "SINCE INTEGRATION".
4) They want to talk about "elegance"? Why not save some of that energy and interior decorating skill for that giant Port-O-Let called Vaught-Hemingway? They ought to take a page from Tulane and play their homecoming game at Tad Gormley. But then the fans might get spoiled.
5) Ole Miss produces an incredible number of flamers. That includes multiple definitions of the word, of course, but let's focus on the kind who post moronic drivel on message boards. Timmy the Tool. RebsRuleBR. Olivis Clothesoff. YankeeReb. Never has a school that accomplishes so little talked so much smack. They like to talk about "4 out of 5". But they don't like to talk about the fact that two of those victories came over Tepper. Or the fact that LSU leads the all time series 49-37-4. Or the fact that it's really only 4 out of 7, a pace that would even the series in 2085. I have a "4 out of 5" for them: They lost "4 out of 5" to Southern Miss before they chickened out of the series.
6) They want to talk about recent parts of the LSU series? How about the period from 1987-99, the lowest point in LSU history? During that period, they won just 6 of the 13 games. Put another way, they had a 6-7 record against the Archmannardo brain trust. But at least that's better than....Tulane, Moo U? That's about it.
7) 5 of the 6 West teams have appeared in the SEC Championship game. Guess which one hasn't made the trip? Nope, not Mississippi State--even Jackie the Clown has been to Atlanta. That's right, the hOMos. This in spite of having Vanderbilt as a permanent East opponent.
8) Not only are they the only West team without a trip to Atlanta, or even a division co-championship, but they've never even had a winning conference record "SINCE EXPANSION".
9) The Manning Legacy? Losing. Neither Archie nor Eli has won the SEC, and it ain't gonna happen this year either. Archie also never had a winning season in the pros. Eli will have a full mustache before he gets a ring on any level.
10) They crash and burn every November, going from controlling their own destiny to the Blue-Gray game. Oh, wait, now they don't even have that to look forward to.
11) Vanderbilt has one SEC road win in 6 years against, guess who? Yep, Ole Miss. Speaking of Vanderbilt, they also had a 2-2 record against the Rebels under Gerry Dinardo.
12) Lame, dorky traditions. The Hotty Toddy cheer and the Grove? What a joke. Can you say gay?
13) They think it's the 1850s. They play Dixie, wave the rebel flag, have Colonel Reb as their mascot, and only named their team the Rebels because "Ole Miss Ole Massas" didn't roll off the tongue as well. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with Southerners taking pride in their heritage, but there are literally dozens of Southern schools that don't feel the need to base their entire identity on the antebellum period. But I guess you can't blame them. If I lived in an armpit of a town like Oxford, and I went to a school whose athletic legacy was a century of futility, I'd pretend it was the ancient past too. The rest of us--who actually did something worth noting since the War Between the States--have moved on.
14) The Walk of Champions? Better hope the truth-in-advertising people don't find out about that. What do the following schools have in common: Alaska-Fairbanks, Boise State, Bowling Green, CCNY, Eastern Kentucky, Furman, Holy Cross, James Madison, Michigan Tech, Minnesota-Duluth, Montana State, Northern Iowa, SIU-Edwardsville, Temple, Tulane, Wayne State, and William & Mary have in common? They all have more national championships than Ole Miss, which has a big goose egg. Maybe that's why the call it the Egg Bowl.
1:16 PM
Not wanting to wear Tennessee Orange anymore, Mississippi created new Department of Corrections "Community Service" uniforms
10:54 AM
Just wanted to put out that that my house (in New Orleans) will be available if people want to get together to watch the LSU/Arkansas game next Friday. I might even get some bacon/ham to go with the Thanksgiving leftovers. Only request is that you might want to bring seating (tailgating chairs?) if you don't want to sit on the floor b/c we are short on furniture right now (only have a loveseat and rocking chair in the den). Let me know if anyone is interested.
10:11 AM
The reason Eli chose Ole Miss has been found!
If you did THIS with your alcohol at LSU you'd be put on trial for alochol abuse.
(BTW, this is an actual picture taken at a nightclub somewhere up near Oxford, MS)
After going to the info session tonight on the Flores MBA Program, I've decided that the best thing for me is to try for it. Its a very good program (only program in the state in the top 99, #31 public university in the country) and my field of study (finance) has a faculty ranked as well as or better than the MBA program overall.
I will have to take the GMAT in January, and the MBA students there gave the impression that I shouldn't have much of a problem with that if I did well on the ACT (which I did). A lot of the first year stuff would be review for me as the program assumes that you've either never taken a business class or its been many years. Also, the program is designed to allow students to work part time and be full time students a the same time. This means I might be able to work with the real estate department on setting up a graduate assistantship, which would be good for them as much as it would for me. I get to work in the same place I have class and have easy access to my professors, they get someone that knows all aspects of the office and department, and with the graduate assistantship, I can probably be of more use than I am right now. Costs would be covered by loans, possibly scholarships. This is also something my family and several finance professors have been pushing for, so support won't be a problem. Lastly, LSU is one of the few programs in the country that doesn't mind students with little to no full-time work experience with an average student age in the program of 24.
Now this is all premature as I still need to apply, take the GMAT, and get an interview before acceptance is even possible, but I walked out of tonight confident that I can do this. The average GPA of students admitted is 3.4, and (don't want to brag but...) I have a 3.9. With the job market for undergrad finance students pretty anemic right now (Arthur Anderson and Enron stopped hiring students in droves for some reason), this could be the key to my future. Also, if I get my stuff in by the Jan 15 cutoff, I should know by February/early March whether or not I'm in. If I get in, that means that I am planting down in Baton Rouge for at least 2 more years (minus the summer between the two years when I will have an internship that may be out of town). No matter what, until I know for sure if I am in, I will continue to explore the job market so that should I not make it in, I'll know I didn't miss any opportunities.
I can't believe it, but now that the end of school was finally at reach, I suddenly want two more years! My excitement about this might wane after I sleep on it, but for now, this is my path.
(BTW, the reason they now say LSU in the only school in the state in the top 99 MBA programs in the country is that they used to say 100, but Tulane snuck in to #100 this year. Until about a week ago, I never realized the academic rivalry between LSU and Tulane, but that is a subject for another blog)

2:51 PM
The Fall 2002 Apartment Survey has begun. Anyone that knows about my job up in BR knows that this can be one of the more aggravating aspects dealing with apartment managers. It used to really suck when I had to call all of them. Now I just use my computer to send out faxes to all of them and I eliminate having to call about half the complexes.
Upset that the concert/Pep Rally is cancelled tonight. I know why it is, but after reading the Reveille today, I'm thinking I'm not supposed to be telling what the "unforseen circumstances" are. A pep rally the week of the Ole Miss game would have been a nice throw back to the old days, but guess it was not to be. (BTW, this was the concert/pep rally that was supposed to be for Homecoming but had to be cancelled due to Lili).
Going to a reception tonight about getting an MBA here at LSU. Who knows maybe I will just stick around for a few more years of student tickets to LSU athletic events and get an MBA while I'm at it.
3:10 AM
Been working on the LSU CKI Newsletter all night. It's 9 pages right now with a definite 2 more plus back cover to come. Never thought I'd have it this big but its turning out that way. Its very unorthodox for us, lots more comedic/fun stuff in it than normal (the words procreate and orgasmic are used) and there's even a special guest appearance in it by Dana from Bama!
Want a copy? Then you need to show up at LSU's inductions on Thursday night.

2:35 AM
Also, forgot that Saban also appeared on ESPN Thursday night during halftime of the USM/Louisville game and addressed the situation there too.
Oh and Justin, Vegas opened bets for the game at LSU -11.
Of course they also said Bama -3.5 so that should mean that either Ole Piss wins by almost 20 or basing anything on betting lines is stupid.
2:30 AM
It's one thing when fans act shitty to each other, but something else when a very well paid coach does it. In short, an idiot on a message board I frequent posted a stupid "transcript" of Saban's speech to the team post-KY where he tore into Bama. A Bama fan sent it to Coach Fifthchoiceione and he believed it as true even after the poster posted an apology AND Coach Saban appeared on a radio show based IN ALABAMA days before and tore the whole thing apart. If they used it to get fired up for the game, that's fine, but what happened after the game is expected from the Spurriers of the world.
8:58 PM
Publisher is finally working. Newsletter goes out Thursday so I'll say I'm doing it now when I will really start Tuesday or Wednesday on it.
5:10 PM
Slept late bcause of being up so late reinstalling windows and found that by tying down my trunk this weekend to bring a table to tailgating, I managed to break my trunk lock's latch and cable. I wish it were just the actual lock, any locksmith could fix that. Now I need to go to the dealership and have them fix it at an outrageous service charge probably.
4:10 AM
Just reinstalled Windows again. Still haven't gotten Publisher installed.
I hate Bill Gates
2:09 AM
I think after my limitted short posts/pictures this week, people think my whole life is LSU football. Well we have basketball and baseball too! Really, there is other stuff in my life:
Got a few CDs the other day at a music store that is shutting down. 5 CDs, $30. Best of Beach Boys, Eagles Greatest Hits Vol 2, Millennium Blues Party (good variety blues CD), Best of the Charlie Daniels Band, and (to get the 25% off discount) The Presidents of the United States of America.
Got some e-mails from my Sports Law professor today abot our papers (mine was on the XFL). Not sure if they were complimentary/pleased or pissed off. Just hard to tell what he was going for with the short e-mails he sent. Guess I will find out on Tuesday (or since his office is next to mine, tomorrow!)
This just in, the Saints have been flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct after leaving too many towels on the floor in the Georgiadome lockerroom. 15 yds will be assessed on the kickoff of the next Saints/Falcons game. I didn't watch the whole game, but what I did see of it was officiated horribly. After reading about the results and hearing from some friends, I see that I'm being kind with "horribly".
Just got done reinstalling Windows on my computer. Was having problems with the windows installer, I think they are fixed now. (I hope) Had to go through all sorts of stuff tyring to install publisher, it's still not on my computer yet. Spent two hours trying to get Windows back up just to install it. The things I do for Circle K!
Do you know about the late night cartoon block on Comedy Central? Gary and Mike, Coeds, an hour of the Critic, and an hour of Duckman (!!!) starting at 11 PM each Sunday. What a great way to end the weekend.
OK the following is all LSU/SEC football discussion. Those that do not wish to read about LSU/SEC football should stop reading now.
They should also know that you're either a Tiger or you're Tigerbait :-)
Ashley left this in my comments:
"Okay here's the excuse....It was cold. We don't play well in the cold. We also don't play well in the day."
Those are not excuses. Nick Saban has been trying to get these "excuses" out of our system since he got here. You can add on "We don't play well in gold/purple jerseys" too, that's another pointless time-honored excuse. Besides, they knew it would be cold, crank up the AC in that monster of an indoor practice facility, pour water on the players and make them practice with icecicles hanging off their noses.
Marcus Randall didn't throw outs while his recievers ran ins because of the cold. There was either the same miscommunication twice, his recievers are running the wrong routes, or he is throwing to the wrong place.
The defense's inability to tackle when Bama was running it up the middle for an entire 96 yd drive wasn't because of the cold.
Here's some real reasons we lost:
Marcus Randall is NOT an SEC quarterback. He's 2-2 right now and he really should be 1-3. Kentucky gave me some false confidence in him. Not because of the Hail Mary, but becuase he actually completed some passes and led our offense to points (something that didn't happen at Auburn). I thought that in two weeks maybe they worked some stuff out in practice. Bama showed that it wasn't Marcus Randall that made Marcus Rnadall look good, it was Kentucky.
Hard to blame the defense for anything when the offense doesn't do shit all night, but when Bama uses delays up the middle for an entire drive, you'd think they'd find a way to stop it.
Here's some reasons to not worry too much about this:
Bama's a very good team now ranked in the top ten in the AP (Coach's poll won't rank because of that probation they're on)
Bama's on probation (They can't win the SEC West, play for the SEC Title, or go to a bowl game, poor babies)
LSU still controls its on destiny in the SEC West, and then some. Win out and the title (and trip to Atlanta to face UGA) is theirs. If LSU loses to Ole Miss and beats Arkansas, Auburn has to beat Alabama (that isn't happening, the Tide is going to roll over the Warplainstigers) to keep LSU out of the SEC Championship Game (and hold LSU to being SEC West Co-Champions). Arkansas is also in position to win the West if they win out (they have MSU and LSU left). So if God deems that LSU must lose again this year, I can't believe I'm saying this, but I want it against Ole Miss. I can hope that MSU will beat Arkansas to make life easier, but I'm not holding my breath on that one.
Ole Miss and Arkansas are no where near as good as Alabama. (I even had an Alabama fan that braved the student section assure me of this :-) )
After putting Rick Clausen in for the fourth quarter, maybe Jimbo Fisher and Coach Saban are considering starting him for Ole Miss.
Its November, and in November, Ole Miss chokes worse than Phil Fulmer at Free Doughnut Day at Krispy Kreme.
If you're someone that likes to see drama (kinda similar to how the BCS #2 team last year kept losing each week) its possible that the SEC West could end up in a 4-way tie with LSU, Ole Miss, Arkansas, and Auburn all 4-4 in conference play and SEC West Co-Champions with Arkansas playing for the title while a 7-1 Bama team sits at home. That's the price you pay when you pay the price you did. I really don't see this happening though, just too many pieces need to fall just right for it to happen.

2:14 PM
Isn't it fun when it feels like the entire world is taking a shit on you?
2:32 AM
"Friends" hating me for having a friend that likes Bama
"Friends" hating me because I like LSU.
"Friends" hating me for being me.
The life of a hermit sometimes seems very appealing.
2:24 AM
If you were wondering why I never posted a prediction, now you know.
I had a feeling this might be coming. The graphics were fun and all, but I had a feeling we might get an L last night.
I just didn't think it would be by that much of a margin and with so little heart by LSU.

3:00 AM
Well I got an MP3 up on my Cox Webspace that you are hearing now, but I only get 300 MB of bandwith per month (with the song being about 2.5 MB, that's about 120 pagehits before its used up). So I might need to stick with MIDIs if I want music b/c I can't afford unlimited bandwith at this point.
All Baton Rouge residents are being urged to move any and all livestock to a secure location indoors.
About 25 RVs flying Crimson and White flags have been sighted in a lot on Nicholson Dr. near downtown Baton Rouge.
Once again, local authorities are advising that all livestock in the Greater Baton Rouge area be moved to a secure location.
Now for photo fun.
This one I told some people about:
And this is a new Bama graphic:
11:47 AM
After staying up till 4 AM and getting only 2 hours of sleep, my paper on the XFL is finished with 20 minutes to spare before class!
Senioritis is FUN!

2:00 PM
Music is up and running. For now I have it set up so that you can turn if off if you want, but I may change it to hidden if problems arise.
And I bet everyone thought that LSU music would be the first thing I put up.

11:23 PM
One other thing, I am thinking about adding background music to this page. Are people reading this on dial up (would limit myself to midis) or high speed (will maybe try MP3s)?

11:22 PM
Well some coworker of Justin's decided to post in my comments that I am a bad LSU fan for comments post-Kentucky game.
Let's see. The only things I did was post a picture of a Kentucky fan and comment on his making a total ass of himself on national TV and then relay something players (who shall remain nameless) said. Also posted a link for people to download the play (something many people that read this blog would be interested in having).
Didn't think I had to comment on the fact that Kentucky played a damn good game, Jared "Need More Pie" Lorenzen is tough and has one of the more interesting and dangerous (for defenses) passing styles I've seen. Anyone that saw the game knows that.
As for rubbing this in Kentucky's faces, I don't know a single person from Kentucky and have not gone out of my way to point any Kentucky fans this way. The graphics come from other LSU fans not me. I just liked them. This is a blog for my friends. Guess what, most of them are LSU students and/or fans. If I went to a Kentucky message board and posted this stuff, you'd have grounds for saying I am rubbing this in thier face. All I am doing is sharing some fun with my friends.
If you're going to rip into me, have the balls to sign your name to it.

11:28 PM
Saw a few football players in my sports marketing class tonight. When people asked them about Saturday, all they could say is how insane everything was. There were KY fans on the field right behind the LSU bench yelling at them and trying to pick fights with players. So thanks to all the KY fans behind the LSU bench for managing to piss them off that much more prior to the "Hail Mary, the Lord is with LSU" play. Good job! (that is what the Reveille is nicknaming it, I kinda like it)
the Geaux to Hell Ole Piss game has also been picked up as a night game at 7:30 PM on ESPN
Looks like camp out tailgating might be out of the question for this year with these two late starts. Still can't believe that the Arkansas game is the only LSU game that CBS will televise this year.
Oh, and too much would be:
Down my back and through my crack ROLL TIDE ROLL (a classic standby. Also applies to Waves)
or
Ram-her, Jam-her, flacid hammer, OFF YOUR SISTER ALABAMER!!! (found this one on a website. Its an old variation of Bama's Rammer Jammer cheer)
LSU-Alabama Slated For 8 p.m. Start on ESPN
(11/11/02)
LSU's game against 10th-ranked Alabama in Tiger Stadium on Saturday will start at 8 p.m. and will be televised to a national audience on ESPN, the Southeastern Conference announced on Monday.
NO MORE JP! NO MORE 11:30 AM! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I was off on my CD prediction by a little. CD lost to Boothville-Venice 8-7 thanks mostly to Coach Wood's refusal to let Cajun QB Buddy Patrick spread the field with the passing game. My best guess put him at 6 of 9 for about 90 yds, a TD, and an INT. I think they could have done more than option ball for 3.5 quarters of the game, but I'm not getting paid to be the head coach now am I?
Savor the KY win while we can. We have some foul, vile beings coming to our campus soon.

6:12 PM
The 2nd Annual AND FINAL Louisiana Housing Conference is OVER!!!!!!
The speakers and location were good for the msot part, just too bad no one was there to see it. But I get to put down 8 or 9 hours on my timesheet for today so I'm happy.
Anyway I am so happy that this is over now,
Got home looking forward to hearing LSU take on Global Sports (yes I shudder that I was looking forward to the analysis of Jordy Hultberg. I feel dirty) but just found out there is no radio. Oh well, guess its time for SMACKDOWN! Main event: The Olympic Violence Connection vs. Los Guerreros 2 out of 3 falls. Should be good.
I still stand by my prediction of Cajuns by 7.
12:36 AM
remember how I said I wouldn't ridicule too much?
Bobby (and anyone else), go to kenramsey.com, click on football, scroll down to District 9-1A and look at the common opponents of Country Day and Boothville-Venice. Aside from Pheonix, CD has been at least a touchdown better than Bootheville vs. everyone else.
Thus my prediction of Cajuns by a touchdown.

10:47 PM
I figured out how to add comments. If you read my posts and have something to say, say it! If I disagree I'll try not to ridicule you too much in my next posting.
Read below to see why I'm back in NO for the second time in less than a week. That's pretty good considering there had been a month + gap between the last tw times I was home.
If people know of anything good to do in NO on Thursday nights to help me celebrate or forget about Thursday (depending on how it goes), please let me know! IM (SeanMcD98) e-mail (SeanMcD98@cox.net) or call (504-YEAH-RIGHT not on the net).
Oh random thought of the moment. If you have highspeed (or just a good dial up) and would like to turn your computer into a radio that airs almost every genre possible, visit Spinner.com. Spinner (now Radio @ Netscape Plus or something) rules, I listen to it at work right now and am listening right now.
Oh, since I won't be able to put up an away message with my predictions:
Country Day 35 Boothville-Venice 28
LSU 28 KY Jelly 17
Worked Friday morning on conference stuff and then got on the road.
I went home for the weekend, got some birthday cake and a few little gifts from mom (the big gift was the trip to "Brusly with an "85000" seat stadium", AL and my camping stuff for Tioga).
Spent most of the day Saturday between my church's fair/food festival and tearing down the remnants of the old fence around my house. What was left of the fence had been standing since we moved there in 1984. Saw a few old CYO friends and advisors while at church but the fair had seen much better days.
Saturday night was the UNO K-Family Dance at a Knights of Columbus Hall. What a great DJ they got. No music from before 1993 and when they tried to play Back That A... er, Thing Up it got cut before the first word. Went to a party at a friends afterwards, bought some rum that barely got touched, so I now have alcohol back at my apartment! This bottle will be making an appearance at the Bummer game and depending on how bad school work gets the next few weeks, it might make it to the Ole Piss game too.
Oh breaking bullshit:
ATHENS-------SEC television games for Saturday, Nov. 16, will not be decided until Sunday, Nov. 10, after CBS exercised a "six-day option" on Monday. CBS, which has the first pick of SEC games on that weekend, will not make the pick until after games on Nov. 9 have been played. ESPN and Jefferson Pilot will make the second and third selections after CBS's first pick. --
Word was that the final delay option had been used a few week ago when deciding what would happen the weekend of LSU/Brusly. Of course, word also was that JP could only force a school to move 1 home game to 11:30 AM but they managed to force Auburn to do it twice (and they were none too happy about it). So no news on the all night campout tailgating until CBS decides something. JP says they are not coming back to Baton Rouge this year (they fear that they will be killed as soon as they enter campus if they make us move another game to 11:30 AM) so I'm hoping CBS picks up Auburn/UGA to leave us to ESPN (6:45 PM, acceptable) or the Deuce (8:00 PM, extra hour of "preparation" for LSU fans).
Sunday morning was the UNO picnic, went pretty well. I wish LSU had sent a few more people (or just one for the interclub), but oh well. It was still fun and glad to get to see alot of my New Orleans friends.
Sunday afternoon was a Steering Committee meeting and then a banking group project meeting. Apparantly when 2 of the 4 group members heard "We'll meet at 5 down in the compuer lab in CEBA." they heard "Why work somewhere that is designed to deal with group work at computers with all the software you could possibly need to do business work? Lets meet all the way across campus in the library!"
I was at work till midnight tonight taking what they did, what we did, and what neither of us did and making it into something cohesive to turn in tomorrow.
If they all don't give me 100% participation there will be bloodshed. There is no reason to be in that horrible horrible building for 12 straight hours unless you're getting paid for all of them.
OK, about time for bed. Just wanted to give a heads up to everyone, I will be leaving for New Orleans and the LA Housing Conference Wed afternoon/night. Here;s my schedule:
Thursday during the day is the conference. Thursday night I am free.
Friday at 3:30 is Country Day's rescheduled homecoming game and somehow I think Boothville Venice will not be forfeiting like Lutheran did.
Saturday I will be going to a BBQ at a friend's house for the LSU/KY Jelly game then heading back to Baton Rouge for stuff up here.
If anyone wants to do something, if you're reading this you should know how to contact me.
