If you're coming to the Christmas party, feel free to bring music. My collection is a little slim, but I have my itnernet radio if all else fails.
If you don;t know about the Christmas party, you were either too far away geographically to bother sending an invite to, I don't have your e-mail, I somehow forgot, or I hate you. Feel free to guess which one you all fall in to :-)
11:00 PM Well we know which band knows the Superdome better.

I know that a lot of people won't have tickets to the Sugar Bowl, but if you want to be at the biggest party in the history of New Orleans outside of Mardi Gras, the Halfass Tailgatin' Tigers (the guys we used to tailgate near at CEBA) will be out in full force for the Sugar Bowl. They've even reserved an entire parking lot on Canal and will have live zydeco music in the afternoon and their DJ later in the day. MY OH MY! (Admission, food, double dutching and beer are free, but they will pass a hat around for donations)

You might want to put this day down in your calendar.
Why?
It is the 10th Annual Greater New Orleans Youth Orchestra May concert.
If you figure out the math, you'd probably guess that the first annual concert would have been my Freshman year of highschool. You'd be right.
My mom got a call tonight that might confirm what we've heard rumblings of for a while.
They want to bring back the alumni (not sure if its all or just the founders yet) to perform in this concert with the current orchestra.
When I go home tomorrow I'll be getting the number of one of the founding board members to get the skinny on the details. Hopefully I'll be able to get some sheet music very soon because I'm really going to need the practice considering my last real time playing the viola was at the May concert my senior year of highschool!

2:24 PM Congratulations!! You're a tall glass of nice cold beer!
12:02 AM
There, I put up some holiday music. After a few days of hearin Tiger Rag loop over and over I remembered why I'm not a Clemson fan.
Anyway, a little about this song, it is a part of Vivaldi's Gloria in D. More important to me, my high school's orchestra performed it at one of our Christmas concerts with the school choir, the only time I've perfromed with a choir behind me while I played, so it was an interesting concert.
A little sentimental with my five year class reunion coming up this Christmas? Maybe so.

You know you have a hot ticket when you're getting requests from Afghanistan for it.

LSU is going to play for the national championship in the Sugar Bowl.
LSU is going to play for the national championship in the Sugar Bowl.
The team has already had a team meeting and been told this. Similarly, the USC boards are reporting that their team has had a team meeting to announce a Rose Bowl bearth.
Still hasn't sunk in. I paid $800 dollars earlier for two upper level tickets with a pre-game party in the Hyatt. They were the best deal on the net, everyone else wanted $600+ for tickets in similar locations. The site I bought from is also going up to $600 tomorrow. You might think I'm insane, but I can afford it and this is the only way for me to get in. I'm not a season ticket owner this year and I can't join the TAF Collegiate Club to get tickets. That being said, first of my friends/family (my mom has said maybe depending on where they are, but I think it will be way too high for her) to pony up the $400 gets my second ticket. You might think its alot, but two tickets in the endzone lower level are about to close on eBay for over $1250 in about 2 hours. If you want to go to the game, you'll find that $400 is far below market value for this ticket.
At some point, I will sell it on the open market, so someone get to me soon wanting this ticket!
(PS I've decided the most appropirate colors for this part of the season are the traditional Catholic colors of Advent - purple and gold!)

Hey everyone, I talked to Kevin and he wanted me to pass on that he's started up a new blog, Life at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, so we can keep up to date with how he's doing on there.
